Brian Chance received his bachelor’s in music education from Western Carolina University in 1990. From there, he began his teaching career at Frostproof Middle/Senior High School in Frostproof, FL, where he remained for seven years. While there, the program achieved Excellent and Superior Ratings in the Florida Concert Band Festival, and the Marching Band achieved Excellent and Superior Ratings.
In 1998, Mr. Chance became the Director of Bands at McLaughlin Middle School and Fine Arts Academy in Lake Wales, FL. While there, the Concert, and Symphonic Bands received Excellent and Superior Ratings in the Florida Bandmaster’s Music Performance Assessment. The performing ensembles consistently performed at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando.
In 2007, Mr, Chance left the Band room to pursue a career in Information Technology. He’s a Network Manager for the Polk County (FL) School District.
From 2002 - 2015, Mr. Chance was the Music Director at First United Methodist Church in Lake Wales. While there, he conducted the Adult Chancel Choir, the Handbell Choir, and various instrumental ensembles. The Chancel Choir performed a major Christmas Cantata each year with a full orchestra, choir, and soloists.
Mr. Chance is a two-time recipient of the Teacher of the Year award, voted upon by his peers. He has performed with The Lakeland Symphony Orchestra, The Hollingsworth Winds, The Bartow Adult Concert Band, The Bach Society of Central Florida, and other groups throughout the Central Florida area. He continues to perform as well as remaining active in assisting band programs as much as possible.
Mr. Chance is now in his 34th year of Teaching. He resides in Lake Wales, FL.
Tim Hamilton received his Bachelors in Music Education from Western Carolina University in 1991. From there, he began his teaching career in Westminster, South Carolina at West-Oak High School and Westminster Middle School, where he remained for five years. While there, groups at both programs went on to achieve Excellent and Superior Ratings in the South Carolina Concert Band Festival, and the Marching Band achieved Excellent and Superior Ratings, and Grand Champion Awards in marching competitions in South Carolina and Georgia.
In 1996, Mr. Hamilton relocated to Gaston County, where he took the position as the Director of Bands at Ashbrook High School. While there, the Concert, Symphonic, and Jazz Bands received Excellent and Superior Ratings in the North Carolina Concert Band Festivals, as well as festivals in Chicago, New Orleans, New York, and also The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
In 2000, Mr, Hamilton became the Director of Bands at Belmont Middle School, in Belmont, NC and received Excellent Ratings in the NC Concert Band Festivals and the Carowinds Music Festivals. Mr. Hamilton was chosen Teacher of the Year for 2003-2004 by the faculty and staff at Belmont Middle School.
From 2000 - 2005, Mr. Hamilton was the conductor of the Gaston Symphonic Band, a community band with great players from Gaston and Lincoln Counties as well as the Charlotte region of North Carolina.
In 2004, Mr. Hamilton became the Director of Bands at South Point High School in Belmont, NC. The Concert, Symphonic Bands, and Jazz Ensemble have received Excellent and Superior ratings in the NC Concert Band MPA Festivals, the NC Jazz Region-West MPA, and the Carowinds Music Festivals. The “The Pride of the Tribe” Marching Band has consistently achieved Excellent and Superior Ratings in various marching competitions throughout the region. They have won numerous First-Place Class and Grand Champion Awards. Mr. Hamilton was chosen Teacher of the Year for 2013-2014 by the faculty and staff of South Point High School.
Mr. Hamilton is a two time recipient of the Gaston County Schools Band Director of the Year award, has served as Clinician for the GCS All County Honor Band. He was also selected by the members of the South Central District Bandmasters Association of North Carolina as Clinician for the 2024 SCDBA All District High School Honor Band.
Mr. Hamilton is now in his 34th year of Teaching. He resides in Gastonia, NC with his wife of 33 years, Angela.
